PAN Card
Permanent Account Number, the 10-character ID issued by the Income Tax Department.
PAN is the universal financial identifier in India. You need it to file income tax, open a demat account, invest in mutual funds above ₹50,000, buy property over ₹10 lakh, and for any banking transaction over ₹50,000. PAN must be linked to Aadhaar; an unlinked PAN is treated as inoperative. Your PAN never changes, even if you move or change your name.
